Jon at The Aspiring Gentleman has written a very complimentary review of the Perdomo Champagne Noir.

He starts off by complimenting the appearance:

“The cigar is wrapped in a dark, almost black, maduro leaf. The wrapper is so dark that I can barely see the small veins in the leaf. There’s an oily sheen that’s clearly visible in the sunlight, and gives a smooth appearance. The wrapper has a texture of velvet or crushed felt, and is very pleasing. The cigar is densely packed, and offers no soft spots. Bringing the cigar up to my nose I pick up sweet earthy tones, floral notes, and a slight hint of sweet herbs. All in all, it’s a very pleasing cigar to every sense, and shows quite a bit of promise.”

In his summary, he writes:

“Overall I’m quite pleased with this cigar. The presentation of the cigar is quite nice, with a wonderful dark wrapper and a band that adds to the attractive looks. The cigar burned slowly and evenly, and produced cool smooth smoke. The slow burn helped the cigar last me roughly two hours, which was great because the flavors were very enjoyable.”

A great new review of the Perdomo Habano Gordo:

The cigar is wonderful to look at, a light sheen lets it almost
glow. This Nicaraguan puro is well constructed, firm in the hand with a
great cedar-y smell in the pre-light.
I paired it with an 11 year old Balblair Highland single malt that my daughter just brought back from
Scotland, The citrus notes of the scotch were perfect with the rich
full-bodied Perdomo. It’s burn was consistent-no relights or touch ups.
The flavor was cedar and leather with a spicy retro-hale. This cigar’s flavor
was tasty throughout.
The size and construction of the gordo is just great. You really feel
special with the creamy smoke and great draw.
I smoked it down to the nub. It took about an hour and I was in no hurry.

The nice folks at The Cigar Report have excellent things to say about the Perdomo Lot 23 Toro Maduro:

I believe Nick Perdomo has outdone himself with the Lot 23. The tobacco in this stick is specially grown in Nicaragua on a field called Lot 23…thus the name. This field was cultivated in 2000 and six years later Perdomo and his team masterfully blended these tobaccos to create the unique premium cigar, Perdomo Lot 23.

The veiny, dark brown wrapper is leathery to the touch and expertly constructed. Along with the spicy notes, the broadleaf wrapper provides some sweetness. The cigar is a bit peppery in the beginning but nicely transitions to a smooth, sweet offering creating a robust but pleasant taste and experience. The Perdomo Lot 23 produces a firm white ash and a solid burn line.

In summary, the Perdomo Lot 23 possesses great construction, quality and overall value. It was a privilege to smoke the Lot 23. I enjoyed it thoroughly and know you will too.

Samuel Spurr from Inlumino Cigar News Australia has posted a new review of the Perdomo Exhibicion Toro Grande Sun Grown.

“… a subtle, easy-going smoke best suited to mid-morning… The first third begins with light spice and creaminess…. The second third gives an extra hint of spice and black pepper, although a subtle burnt toast and light hay flavour comes to the fore. The final third increases in flavour minutely and doesn’t have the crescendo I was waiting for, however on final assessment it is a great easy going smoke that doesn’t challenge the palate. I’d pair it with a Earl Grey Tea or even a green tea. Coffee might be suitable but may drown out the subtle flavour changes.”

Another great review of the brand new Perdomo Reserve Limited Edition Cameroon, this time from “Zack The Stogie Man”.

He writes:

The flavors were very robust right off the start. There were a couple flavors that struck me right away. There was a subtle spice and a mild sweetness off the light. These flavors altered very quickly. The sweetness picked up and the spice died down. As the cigar progressed, I was met with a mild sweet cedar flavor that stuck to my palate.

Shortly after the cedar came in, there was also a slight bitter coffee undertone. The coffee wasn’t strong by any means, just enough to compliment the cedar nicely. Towards the halfway point, the flavor became very leathery. Once the leather flavor came in, the coffee notes picked up.

The finish was great on this cigar. The earthy notes picked up, the spice picked up, and the cedar notes became much stronger. The combination of flavors was great. All the flavors molded together perfectly.

The ash on this cigar was surprisingly strong given the size of the stick. It held on until the band and was a medium shade of gray. The burn was very even and slow. This little cigar lasted a solid hour. The draw wasn’t bad at all. The smoke was thick and creamy and was light gray. The aroma was slightly spicy and earthy but nice nonetheless.

This is a cigar that I wish wouldn’t be a limited edition. This cigar has a great price point and a great flavor profile. it’s a solid medium bodied cigar that I would recommend.

Brian Hewitt has posted a very positive review of the brand new Perdomo Reserve LImited Cameroon Edition Petit Corona on Stogie Review.

This is what he has to say about the flavour:

The first few puffs of the Cameroon Petit Corona provided an impressive rich and sweet combination of graham, tobacco and grass flavors. As the cigar warmed up, the profile transitioned into a sweet, orange-y grass, with aromatic cedar notes, coffee and a subtle spice.

The second third continued to produce sweet citrus grass flavors, but the base made a transition from coffee to leather. The cigar also seemed a little drier on the palate now than it had before.

As the cigar neared the final third, I again picked up those pleasing graham notes, and even a little bit of caramel. There was also less leather and more of a chocolate and coffee base to the profile. Aromatic cedar, grass and spice lingered in the finish.

These will be arriving in Australia towards the end of the week! We’ll make them available for purchase soon.
